When looking for a skin bleaching solution, you will find different possibilities available: from commercial creams to laser, microdermabrasion, cryotherapy, or pills. Skin bleaching creams and lotions are the most common treatments used. There are plenty of them on the market. Some available by prescription and others over the counter.

A skin bleaching cream will reduce the production of melamin with ingredients that inhibit tyrosinase, which is key to synthesize melamin. There are three ingredients extensively used:

- Arbutin. It is a safe and natural substitute for hydroquinone. It is extracted from berry plants. It seems to whiten skin very effectively with no dangerous side effects.

- Kojic Acid. It is another natural ingredient widely used in skin bleaching creams. It is found in a type of fungi, and also when fermenting rice to make sake.Among other things, it prevents melanin production, it has antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

- Hydroquinone. Potentially harmful but very effective. Skin bleaching creams containing hydroquinone are banned in Europe but available in USA (concentrations of 2% over the counter and higher by prescription).

Finding an effective skin bleaching cream should not be a problem. If you have a slight hyperpigmentation problem, you can try a home remedy. Keep in mind that home remedies, like commercial bleaching creams, must be applied regularly as a part of your daily routine.
